The Wayana of Brazil
The Wayana of Brazil, numbering about 300 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Cariban people formed from the fusion of the Upului, Opagwana, and Kukuyana, who allied with the neighboring Apalai beginning in the late 1800s according to myths describing a joint fight against the supernatural enemy Tulupere.
They are an indigenous people in the South American Indigenous people cluster of the Latin American and Caribbean Peoples. Their primary religion is Folk Catholicism, and they primarily speak Wayana.
