The Surui of Para of Brazil
The Surui of Para of Brazil, numbering about 325 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Tupi-Guarani people of Para state, also called Aikewara, who fled their homeland after Xikrin attacks and endured influenza and smallpox epidemics in the early 1960s before sustained outside contact began, distinct from the unrelated Surui of Rondonia.
They are an indigenous people in the Guarani people cluster of the Latin American and Caribbean Peoples. Their primary religion is Animism, and they primarily speak Suruí Do Pará.
