The Mehinaku of Brazil
The Mehinaku of Brazil, numbering about 250 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are an Arawakan people of the Xingu headwaters in Mato Grosso specializing in salt production, who help maintain peace among Xingu tribes through trade, intermarriage, and ceremony, once threatened by Txicao raids until pacification in the 1960s.
They are an indigenous people in the South American Indigenous people cluster of the Latin American and Caribbean Peoples. Their primary religion is Animism, and they primarily speak Mehináku.
