The Kaingang of Brazil
The Kaingang of Brazil, numbering about 33,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are descendants of the ancient southern Je peoples who have inhabited southern Brazil's grasslands and forests for some 3,000 years, building pit houses by 1000 AD, with their last independent groups in Sao Paulo and Parana subdued only in 1912 and 1930.
They are an indigenous people in the South American Indigenous people cluster of the Latin American and Caribbean Peoples. Their primary religion is Ethnoreligion, and they primarily speak Kaingang.
