The Arawete of Brazil
The Arawete of Brazil, numbering about 475 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are an Amazonian Tupi-Guarani people of the middle Xingu River in Brazil's Para state, contacted only in 1976 after violent conflict with the neighboring Parakana, whose cosmology envisions the dead transformed and consumed by the gods.
They are an indigenous people in the Guarani people cluster of the Latin American and Caribbean Peoples. Their primary religion is Ethnoreligion, and they primarily speak Araweté.
