The Trio of Suriname
The Trio of Suriname, numbering about 1,400 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Cariban people who call themselves Tareno, meaning people from here, formed as diverse refugee groups including the Akuriyo and Piyanokoto converged in the Brazil-Suriname-Guyana border watershed from the 17th century onward.
They are an indigenous people in the South American Indigenous people cluster of the Latin American and Caribbean Peoples. Their primary religion is Protestantism, and they primarily speak Trió.
