The Toka of Zimbabwe

The Toka of Zimbabwe, numbering about 230,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a Tonga dialect community of the Kalomo and Livingstone districts descended from among the first Bantu-speaking settlers in Zambia around 1100 AD, whose poorer soils drove many Toka into labor migration in Zimbabwe until after Zambian independence in 1964.

They are a diaspora people in the Bantu, Central-South people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples. Their primary religion is Ethnoreligion, and they primarily speak Tonga (Zambia).
