The Manganja Nyanja of Malawi

The Manganja Nyanja of Malawi, numbering about 2,700,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are the southern branch of the Maravi peoples who migrated from central Africa into the Shire River valley by the fifteenth century, whose dialect absorbed vocabulary from the Kololo, Lomwe, and Yao neighbors they welcomed among them.

They are an indigenous people in the Bantu, Chewa-Sena people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples. Their primary religion is Ethnoreligion, and they primarily speak Chichewa.
