The Lugbara of Uganda
The Lugbara of Uganda, numbering about 1,590,000 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a Central Sudanic people whose oral tradition traces a migration from Rajaf, South Sudan, through Tanzania and Rwanda before 16th-century wars split them across Uganda, DR Congo, and South Sudan, once known as Madi before Lugbara emerged as a name.
They are an indigenous people in the Sudanic people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples. Their primary religion is Roman Catholicism, and they primarily speak Lugbara.
