The Mpoto of Tanzania
The Mpoto of Tanzania, numbering about 120,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a Bantu people of Lake Nyasa's eastern shore in Tanzania's Mbinga District, formed when a branch of the Matengo split off and resettled in the hills north of Songea during nineteenth-century Ngoni invasions.
They are an indigenous people in the Bantu, Central-Tanzania people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples. Their primary religion is Roman Catholicism, and they primarily speak Mpoto.
