The Kami of Tanzania

The Kami of Tanzania, numbering about 33,000 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a matrilineal Bantu people of Morogoro District in Tanzania, closely related to the neighboring Kutu, Kwere, and Luguru, who built stockade-fortified villages in the 1800s to resist East African slave raiders.

They are an indigenous people in the Bantu, East-Coastal people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples. Their primary religion is Sunni Islam, and they primarily speak Kami (Tanzania).
