The Yansi of the Democratic Republic of the Congo
The Yansi of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, numbering about 224,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a matrilineal Bantu people of southwestern DRC's Kwilu-Kwango river basin, traditionally organized into some 120 chieftainships under three kings with a male chiefly clan paired against a separate wife-providing female clan.
They are an indigenous people in the Bantu, Central-South people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples. Their primary religion is Roman Catholicism, and they primarily speak Yansi.
