The Lengola of the Democratic Republic of the Congo
The Lengola of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, numbering about 247,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a Bantu people of Maniema province in eastern DR Congo whose oral tradition traces their origin to the former Bunyoro kingdom of Uganda, distant kin of the neighboring Lega.
They are an indigenous people in the Bantu, Central-Congo people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples. Their primary religion is Roman Catholicism, and they primarily speak Lengola.
