The Kete of the Democratic Republic of the Congo
The Kete of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, numbering about 18,500 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a Luba-Kasai people who migrated to their present Congo homeland from the east during the sixteenth century, absorbing cultural influence from their southern Lunda neighbors and narrowly escaping conquest by the Chokwe in the late nineteenth century.
They are an indigenous people in the Bantu, Central-Luba people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples. Their primary religion is Roman Catholicism, and they primarily speak Kete.
