The Maxi of Togo
The Maxi of Togo, numbering about 66,500 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a Gbe-speaking people related to the Fon and Ewe, tracing dynastic origins to the town of Tado founded by 13th-century migrants from Oyo and Ketu, whose homeland became part of West Africa's Slave Coast during centuries of European slave trading.
They are an indigenous people in the Guinean people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples. Their primary religion is Protestantism, and they primarily speak Maxi Gbe.
