The Bedik of Senegal
The Bedik of Senegal, numbering about 6,400 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a hill people of Senegal's Bassari Country near Kedougou, descended from Keita and Camara families who fled Mali and Fouta Djalon between the 1000s and 1800s to escape war and forced conversion, preserving a UNESCO-listed cultural landscape.
They are an indigenous people in the Mande people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples. Their primary religion is Ethnoreligion, and they primarily speak Ménik.
