The Mumuye of Nigeria

The Mumuye of Nigeria, numbering about 907,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are the largest ethnic group of Nigeria's Taraba State, pushed into the eastern hills by Fulani holy wars after centuries under Jukun rule, organized into small independent communities bound by a shared language and the secretive Vabong society.

They are an indigenous people in the Adamawa-Ubangi people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples. Their primary religion is Animism, and they primarily speak Mumuye.
