The Kwahu of Ghana

The Kwahu of Ghana, numbering about 694,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are an Akan people of Ghana's Eastern Region who fled Adansi around 1650 to escape the Denkyira king ahead of the 1699-1700 Asante-Denkyira war, settling defensible heights nicknamed Asaase Aban, or Natural Fortress, to spot approaching enemies.

They are an indigenous people in the Guinean people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples. Their primary religion is Protestantism, and they primarily speak Akan.
