The Dankyira of Ghana

The Dankyira of Ghana, numbering about 176,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are an Akan people of Ghana's Central Region whose ancestors migrated south from the Niger Bend around 1570 to found the once-powerful Denkyira kingdom, defeated by the rising Asante empire in 1701.

They are an indigenous people in the Guinean people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples. Their primary religion is Neo-Pentecostalism, and they primarily speak Akan.
