The Akaselem of Togo
The Akaselem of Togo, numbering about 83,500 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a composite people of Togo's Tchamba Prefecture formed from an autochthonous Lama core joined by Bi-Tchambe, Temba, Bariba and other immigrant clans who fled south from Ghana's Dagbon-Konkomba conflict zone around World War I.
They are an indigenous people in the Gur people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples. Their primary religion is Folk Islam, and they primarily speak Akaselem.
