The Mere of Cameroon
The Mere of Cameroon, numbering about 35,500 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Chadic-speaking Kirdi people of the Mandara Mountains foothills in Cameroon's Far North Region, closely related to the Mofu, whose ancestors retreated into the massif to resist 19th-century Fulani jihad and slave raiding.
They are an indigenous people in the Chadic people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples. Their primary religion is Folk Islam, and they primarily speak Merey.
