The Mabas of Cameroon
The Mabas of Cameroon, numbering about 16,500 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are an Afro-Asiatic people centered on Mabas village near the Nigerian border in Cameroon's Far North Region, linked through shared Gudur tradition to related Vizik and Vemgo communities across the frontier.
They are an indigenous people in the Chadic people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples. Their primary religion is Sunni Islam, and they primarily speak Vemgo-Mabas.
