The Gbaya of Cameroon
The Gbaya of Cameroon, numbering about 447,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Gbaya people of eastern Cameroon whose ancestors fled Usman dan Fodio's jihad in early 1800s northern Nigeria under war chief Gazargamu, enduring annual raids by Fulani slavers before revolting against French colonial conscription in 1928.
They are an indigenous people in the Adamawa-Ubangi people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples. Their primary religion is Protestantism, and they primarily speak Northwest Gbaya.
