The Nankana of Burkina Faso
The Nankana of Burkina Faso, numbering about 65,500 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Gurunsi people whose Nankani dialect belongs to the Farefare continuum shared with Ghana's Gurene and Frafra speakers, tracing migration from Yuan in southern Burkina Faso, once called Ninkarese before colonial partition split Gurunsi communities apart.
They are an indigenous people in the Gur people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples. Their primary religion is Animism, and they primarily speak Farefare.
