The Jerba of Tunisia
The Jerba of Tunisia, numbering about 62,000 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a Berber people of Tunisia's Djerba island preserving a distinct Amazigh identity through their Djerbi dialect, having sheltered Kharijite Muslims fleeing Almohad persecution before passing under the Berber Hafsid dynasty in the early 1200s.
They are an indigenous people in the Amazigh-Saharan people cluster of the Arab Peoples. Their primary religion is Sunni Islam, and they primarily speak Nafusi.
