The Tumtum of Sudan
The Tumtum of Sudan, numbering about 22,000 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a Nuba Mountains people of South Kordofan whose homeland was part of the Kingdom of Kush and later the Nubian kingdom of Alodia, coming under the 18th-century kingdom of Taqali until its Mahdist defeat, part of a Nuba cluster with the Heiban and Koalib.
They are an indigenous people in the Nuba Mountains people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples. Their primary religion is Sunni Islam, and they primarily speak Tumtum.
