The Tennet of South Sudan

The Tennet of South Sudan, numbering about 13,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a Surmic-speaking people of the northern hills of Eastern Equatoria whose traditions trace their origins to a larger ancestral community shared with other Southwest Surmic peoples and whose identity remains centered on the Tennet homeland around Arilo.

They are an indigenous people in the Nilotic people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples. Their primary religion is Animism, and they primarily speak Tennet.
