The Tama of Sudan
The Tama of Sudan, numbering about 98,000 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a Nilo-Saharan-speaking people of Dar Tama on the Chad-Darfur border, long ruled by their own sultan even while subject to the neighboring Wadai and Darfur sultanates, displaced from parts of their homeland by Zaghawa migration during the 1980s drought.
They are an indigenous people in the Ouaddai-Fur people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples. Their primary religion is Sunni Islam, and they primarily speak Tama (Chad).
