The Shatt of Sudan
The Shatt of Sudan, numbering about 38,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Daju-related people who call themselves Caning, settled in the Shatt Hills southwest of Kadugli after migrating from South Darfur to escape Darfur slave raiders, part of a wider Daju world that once ruled a small Sudanic empire from 1200 to 1400.
They are an indigenous people in the Nuba Mountains people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples. Their primary religion is Sunni Islam, and they primarily speak Shatt.
