The Baiso of Ethiopia
The Baiso of Ethiopia, numbering about 9,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a small East Cushitic-speaking ethnic group living around Lake Abaya in southern Ethiopia, especially on Gidicho (Gedicho) Island and nearby lakeshore settlements.
They are an indigenous people in the Sidama people cluster of the Horn of Africa Peoples. Their primary religion is Protestantism, and they primarily speak Baiso.
