The Mundang of Chad
The Mundang of Chad, numbering about 523,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Chadic branch of the Mundang people centered on Lere in Mayo-Kebbi, whose hilltop kingdom resisted 19th-century pressure from the Sokoto Caliphate and Fulani jihad forces under Modibbo Adama, preserving Lere's status as a symbol of Mundang identity.
They are an indigenous people in the Adamawa-Ubangi people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples. Their primary religion is Ethnoreligion, and they primarily speak Mundang.
