The Baggara Hemat of Chad
The Baggara Hemat of Chad, numbering about 29,500 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are an indigenous Hemat subgroup of the Baggara, a cattle-herding Arab population of the Sahel whose communities form part of the wider Baggara belt extending eastward from Lake Chad.
They are an indigenous people in the Arab, Shuwa people cluster of the Arab Peoples. Their primary religion is Sunni Islam, and they primarily speak Sudanese Arabic.
