The Fongoro of Chad
The Fongoro of Chad, numbering about 3,300 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a Central Sudanic-speaking people of eastern Chad and western Sudan. Historically associated with the Darfur borderlands, they maintain a distinct ethnic identity despite linguistic and cultural assimilation by neighboring groups.
They are an indigenous people in the Ouaddai-Fur people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples. Their primary religion is Sunni Islam, and they primarily speak Fur.
