The Belbali of Algeria
The Belbali of Algeria, numbering about 3,800 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a Korandje-speaking ethnolinguistic community of the Tabelbala oasis in southwestern Algeria whose identity reflects Songhay heritage and centuries of cultural interaction with Arab and Amazigh peoples of the Sahara.
They are an indigenous people in the Songhai people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples. Their primary religion is Sunni Islam, and they primarily speak Korandje.
