The Ulawa of the Solomon Islands

The Ulawa of the Solomon Islands, numbering about 8,700 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are an island people of the southeast Solomon Islands first sighted by Spanish explorer Mendana's 1568 expedition, renowned for haa'a-ni-Ulawa, the finest traditional shell money in the eastern Solomons, whose ancestors abandoned bows and arrows by the 1800s.

They are an indigenous people in the Solomons people cluster of the Pacific Islander Peoples. Their primary religion is Protestantism, and they primarily speak Sa'a.
