The Babatana of the Solomon Islands
The Babatana of the Solomon Islands, numbering about 14,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a South Choiseul people first contacted by missionaries and settled on the best coastal land, later triggering disputes with more powerful inland clans, their numbers earlier reduced by headhunting and disease in the late 1800s and early 1900s.
They are an indigenous people in the Solomons people cluster of the Pacific Islander Peoples. Their primary religion is Protestantism, and they primarily speak Babatana.
