The Halang Doan of Laos
The Halang Doan of Laos, numbering about 2,300 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a Bahnaric people of Laos's Kasseng Plateau in Attapeu Province, of mixed Sedang and Jarai heritage shaped by centuries of contact with the Lao, whose territory narrowed through conflicts with the Cham, Lao, and Siamese from the 12th to 19th centuries.
They are an indigenous people in the Mon-Khmer people cluster of the Southeast Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Animism, and they primarily speak Halang Doan.
