The Mamanwa Negrito of the Philippines
The Mamanwa Negrito of the Philippines, numbering about 6,200 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are among the first human inhabitants of the Philippines some 50,000 years ago, a people distinct from other Negrito groups, settled around Mindanao's Lake Mainit, traditionally hunter-gatherers in wall-less settlements led by the group's eldest male.
They are an indigenous people in the Filipino Tribal people cluster of the Malay Peoples. Their primary religion is Animism, and they primarily speak Mamanwa.
