The Bunun of Taiwan

The Bunun of Taiwan, numbering about 63,500 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are Taiwan's highest-elevation indigenous people, dwelling 500 to 1,500 meters up the Central Mountain Range after migrating from the Zhuoshui River lowlands 250 to 300 years ago, once feared as headhunting warriors until a 1915 raid against Japanese police.

They are an indigenous people in the Taiwan Indigenous people cluster of the East Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Protestantism, and they primarily speak Bunun.
