The Khalka Mongols of Mongolia
The Khalka Mongols of Mongolia, numbering about 3,190,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are the largest Mongol subgroup, emerging in the early 15th century from a split between the western Oirad and eastern Khalkha, later reunited under Dayan Khan's 1466 confederation stretching from the Ural Mountains to Lake Baikal.
They are an indigenous people in the Mongolian people cluster of the East Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Tibetan Buddhism, and they primarily speak Halh Mongolian.
