The Mawo Qiang of China

The Mawo Qiang of China, numbering about 26,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a Northern Qiang-speaking people of Sichuan's upper Min River valley, often bilingual in Tibetan and Sichuanese Mandarin, whose ancestors were not formally classified as part of China's official Qiang nationality until 1950.

They are an indigenous people in the Tibetan people cluster of the Tibetan Peoples. Their primary religion is Tibetan Buddhism, and they primarily speak Northern Qiang.
