They are a settled agricultural people of Balochistan, Pakistan, distinct from the historically nomadic Baloch and long relied upon by the Khanate of Kalat for administrative officials, speaking a Persian-related language shaped by the Dravidian Brahui tongue.
They are an indigenous people in the Persian people cluster of the Persian-Median Peoples. Their primary religion is Sunni Islam, and they primarily speak Dehwari.
