The Lepcha of Nepal
The Lepcha of Nepal, numbering about 4,800 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are one of four Lepcha communities, the Ilammu, concentrated in Nepal's Ilam, Panchthar, and Taplejung districts, officially recognized as an indigenous Janajati nationality in 2002 alongside related communities in Sikkim, Darjeeling, and Bhutan.
They are an indigenous people in the Other Tibeto-Burmese people cluster of the Tibetan Peoples. Their primary religion is Tibetan Buddhism, and they primarily speak Lepcha.
