The Tangchangya of Bangladesh
The Tangchangya of Bangladesh, numbering about 34,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are an Indigenous people of the Chittagong Hill Tracts who trace their heritage to migrations from the Arakan region and maintain a distinct Tanchangya identity closely related to, but separate from, the neighboring Chakma.
They are an indigenous people in the South Asian Buddhist people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Theravada Buddhism, and they primarily speak Tangchangya.
