The Khakas of the Russian Federation
The Khakas of the Russian Federation, numbering about 73,000 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a Turkic-speaking indigenous people of southern Siberia, concentrated in the Republic of Khakassia in Russia. They speak the Khakas language and are one of the historic native peoples of the upper Yenisei River region.
They are an indigenous people in the Ural-Siberian people cluster of the Turkic Peoples. Their primary religion is Eastern Orthodox Christianity, and they primarily speak Khakas.
